nice juxtaposition of the personal with the technical, an interesting way to bring broadband alive 

we crave speed for internet yet are drawn to old fashioned trains - the puffing billy is still a favourite

(btw check your figures,  my speed (the full ADSL2+ features are not available through my exchange) is 1500/256k which means 1500 kilobits/sec download and 256 kilobits/sec upload - i think its confusing and maybe a way of inflating the figures how they are expressed in bits not bytes - an &quot;old&quot; 56k modem equates to roughly 6KB (kilobytes) download per second, which is the ballpark figure I give to my students in explaining the importance of images and download speed)

I think yr post is a good example of blogging outside the square, because it take elements from different fields (personal, technical) and integrates them laterally</description>
