No don't worry Graham, "the wasted space" is a real perception, I understand. What I wanted to say is that we will soon "fill the blank". Stay tuned on our Webwag blog (www.blog.webwag.com) :)
Best

Hi Graham,

thanks for this very detailed review. There are indeed a few good services out there, all trying to push towards the "team" aspect of personal start pages. Pageflakes is currently developing 16 didicated "educational" Flakes. We will release them very soon (2-4 weeks) and I hope that those specific Flakes will make Pageflakes even more useful for teachers and students. The whole collaboration idea appeals to the educational sector in my opinion (e.g. group projects, home school, virtual classrooms, etc.).

I am always open for ideas and questions.

Cheers and best regards
Ole Brandenburg

Thanks for the feedback, Franck. Ouch! "Wasted space" is a bit harsh, isn't it? I was just trying to be objective and this overview was not meant to be expert opinion. I actually though WebWag had been around longer than 3 weeks - I just though I was slow in finding out about it. I do think that to be long term contenders in the "social software" category, an ability to make the StartPage public and editable by more than one user is essential. I will spend a little bit more quality time over at my WebWag account now.....

The "wasted space in the header" as you, about Webwag, will worth a look over the next few days...But, thank you for mentioning the Webwag baby (3 weeks old now).
