Amazing that he won his <a href="http://www.contemporarywriters.com/authors/?p=auth03c7l393712635104" rel="nofollow">first Miles Franklin award</a> at the age of 19. His writing is absolutely brilliant, painting images with words unlike any other authors that I've read. Jane, Tim Winton’s book “The Riders” is my absolute favourite. After yelling at the television set for quite a few years in Australia I finally played my first game of AFL for a womens university team. I don't yell so loud now because that silly ball just does not go where it is supposed to when you kick it! I like Tim Winton's kids books, Lochie Leonard (?), but I just read "Dirt Music", he writes compelling adult works as well! LOL, I enjoy these memes, it helps make the blogosphere a more intimate and friendly place :) .
